Running with a new install of NME (3.3.0and
I can debug Actionscript 3->AS3 projects and I can debug HaXe->AS3 project.

I can't debug HaXe->NME projects.

When I run it with a breakpoint set the commandline is:
Running process: C:\Motion-Twin\haxe\haxelib.exe run nme run "W:\dev\projects\flipzine\Test1\application.nmml" flash -debug -DSWF_PLAYER="C:\Program Files\FlashDevelop\Tools\flexlibs\runtimes\player\11.1\win\FlashPlayerDebugger.exe"

Flashdevelop hangs saying: "Waiting for Flash Player to connect to debugger." for quite a while and then logs: "[No debug Flash player connection request]"

I get the same thing with the template from the nme site.

Since AS3 projects are ok I assume Java is correctly setup.

If I add the following line to the application.nmml
<haxedef name="fdb" if="target_flash" />
it works, but then it's not only in debug builds that fdb connectback is used?

NME 3.3.1 and FlashDevelop 4.0.1 RTM, fresh installs of both.

Yes it's a change in NME which removed fdb directive by default - latest FD dev build adds it explicitely to nme command (-Dfdb).

Obviously debugger is only activated when FD compiles in debug mode. If you have a debug SWF you can force FD to start the debugger: Debug > Start Remote Session.
