 beta 7, launching under Vista
For me, launching the new beta 7 under Vista generates the error below. If I 'Run as Administrator', everything is fine. Man, I hate Vista

We did add a Vista manifest to FlashDevelop. Does Beta6 run fine on your computer?

Thanks for your quick response Mika. Yes, beta6 ran wonderfully. I uninstalled it prior to installing beta7.
I have checked for the .manifest in my Flash Develop directory, and couldn't find it? I also tried reinstalling beta7 over the top of my failing beta7 installation. But that hasn't worked either; same error message.
Thanks!

It's embedded directly to the FlashDevelop.exe file. Try this out and let me know if it works:
http://www.flashdevelop.org/downloads/r ... -Beta7.exe

Hi
I'm also running Vista, each time when I start fd I got this:
Code: End of Stream encountered before parsing was completed.
at System.Runtime.Serialization.Formatters.Binary.__BinaryParser.Run() at System.Runtime.Serialization.Formatters.Binary.ObjectReader.Deserialize(HeaderHandler handler, __BinaryParser serParser, Boolean fCheck, Boolean isCrossAppDomain, IMethodCallMessage methodCallMessage) at System.Runtime.Serialization.Formatters.Binary.BinaryFormatter.Deserialize(Stream serializationStream, HeaderHandler handler, Boolean fCheck, Boolean isCrossAppDomain, IMethodCallMessage methodCallMessage) at PluginCore.Utilities.ObjectSerializer.InternalDeserialize(String file, Type type) at PluginCore.Utilities.ObjectSerializer.Deserialize(String file, Object obj)
then a stop.
FD beta 6 worked perfectly... I've tried uninstall / install.. same result.
What is the problem?

There is some problems with the settings you have. Delete the folder:
C:\Users\{USERNAME}\AppData\Local\FlashDevelop
...and restart.

Update: this morning I've started the pc, started fd and got the error again. I've deleted the FlashDevelop folder and not it works... but it's annoying.
I also forgot to mention that there is a little security icon overlaying the fd icon and when I'm starting fd I got a security alert that the fd wants to access my system.
Hope this helps to figure out the problem.

I will not uninstall FD!

I tried this on my comp and the best solution is to remove the manifest, so next version will not have it.

Hi Mika,
I was getting the same issues with Vista SP1 and only being able to open up FD when I ran the program as an administrator.. I was also not able to open up FD project files, or double click my AS files to open in FD either...
In the beta 7 prior to the version that you have here, and so I un-installed my version of FD and deleted the folder in my AppData and then installed this version and it works perfectly!!
Cheers

Well, I've done every step demonstrated in this thread, but nothing has worked yet. I'm also on vista ultimate sp1.
Anyone here has a third option I could use?
Tanks!

Beta 7 not working under Vista user accounts - solution!!!
Seem to have a fix to my problem:
Install FD3 Beta 7
Go to Program files > FlashDevelop > FirstRun folder
Right click 'Commands.fdb' select 'Properties' then log in as Administrator
Change security permissions for your user account to 'Full control'
Run FD3 and hey presto it works!
