I've been using Flash for over 10 years but just recently I've learned that there is such a thing as a SWF version that is different from the Flash Player version, and it looks like SWF version numbers correspond to certain Flash Player version numbers. http://stackoverflow.com/questions/9537 ... h-versions

I've found a problem that changing the SWF version seems to be a solution to: http://stackoverflow.com/questions/1001 ... at-runtime

It seems I can change the swf version in Additional Compiler Options. So here's my question: is there any actual reason to do this? I'm guessing the SWF version is handled automatically when you select the Flash Player version, so is it possible or desirable to choose a SWF version that doesn't correspond to the Flash Player version you've selected?
