In theory it is possible to convert SWFs to Mac applications (also iOS and Android apps, but that will come later) without buying the rather expensive programs like Zinc. I have used the trial version of Zinc, and it has some problems, so I'd like to understand how to do this myself.

I've been asking questions on StackOverflow, and one response lead me to this page:

http://help.adobe.com/en_US/air/build/WSfffb011ac560372f709e16db131e43659b9-8000.html#WSfffb011ac560372f-63d4a6d6131f383b813-8000

I found adt.bat, but the instructions on the page are very unclear and I don't know if .bat files work on Macs. Turning an SWF into an EXE is very simple with the converter at http://swf-to-exe.com/ (although it would be nice to know how to that, too). Turning a SWF into a Mac program looks like more of a challenge.

Help!!!

Yes AIR allows you to package a SWF into an application.

This isn't simple though and everything has to be done through the command line.
You'll have to search quite a bit to figure how things work but that's quite powerful.

I use iDealshare VideoGo to convert SWF to Mac applications supported MP4, MOV, MP3 format.

I like its batch conversion function. Its convert SWF to almost all kinds of video or audio format like MP4, MOV, AVI, WMV, FLV, GIF, H.265, HTML5, MKV, MPG, FLAC, WAV, MP3 etc.

It also can convert video to SWF.

Here is the step by step guide to convert SWF to MP4 at http://www.idealshare.net/video-convert ... ndows.html

Hope it also helps for you.

luckyhardwork, this is actually a full scale app, not a video. I've figured out how to do it.
