I love FlashDevelop so much, and just hate having to work in Flash Builder, but everyone now and then I have to. And there is one feature of Flash Builder that I really like.

I'm not sure if there is already a plugin for this, or maybe even an option to have FlashDevelop do it already, but when holding the CTRL key and pressing the left and right arrow keys in FlashBuilder the cursor doesn't move necessarily to the end/beginning of "whole words" but instead it honors camel casing.

Example:

If you have the words public var newVariable:Variable with the cursor before "public" then pressing CTRL+right 3 times in FlashDevelop will move the cursor to before the ":". But in Flash Builder doing the same thing will move the cursor to between "new" and "Variable".

Anyone game for programming a plugin to do this if it doesn't exist? Anyone else even like this feature of Flash Builder?

Your problem was caused by the StartPage screen.
i've fixed the problem and uploaded a new version.

use the links from the first post.

Note: After you extract the plugin you must close and reopen FD for the new version to take effect.

Just posting this to let you know that i've updated the plugin and fixing a small bug.
the plugin should now "jump" uppercase code propperly. (ex. EVENT_NAME)

Thanks dude, great plugin. I would like add a few suggestions though.

Can the plugin jump all consecutive white space (or spaces and tabs) and punctuation at once? If I have 5 tabs or spaces or "]};" CTRL+arrow works the same as just using the arrows. One character at a time. Could it jump over all of them instead?

Could you possibly add a shortcut option instead of hardcoding to CTRL+RIGHT and CTRL+LEFT? Maybe giving us the option to use say CTRL+ALT+arrows? Sometimes I want to skip over whole "words" at a time then switch to the camelCased jumping.

Thanks.

I've been using this plug-in, it's nice!
But then I found this reference: http://www.scintilla.org/SciTEDoc.html#Keyboard
And the same (or almost same) feature is included by default, using Ctrl+/ and Ctrl+\ as shortcuts.
